EXPO 2000 - Flambee

Every Expo has its daily closing show, and so did the German Expo in Hannover 2000. Based in, around and atop a football field sized artificial lake, with 3 (working) construction cranes each holding a 25m high water screen, with loads of pyro, water fountains and the strange “moving hand”, this somehow pushed the boundaries of “normal” shows at that time. For me as the lighting designer it was a challenge and great fun at the same time.
Lots of things needed to be “invented” and modified to bring this show together. The show ran every evening of the Expo – some 150 days.
