VOLKSWAGEN GROUP NIGHT

In 2006 Volkswagen came up with the brilliant idea to stage opulent live press shows one day ahead of the opening of all major car shows worldwide. For each of the brands – from Bentley to Seat, Audi to Lamborghini, Volkswagen to Porsche we devised a short and always cutting-edge showcase. By inviting up to 2500 guests, world press and VIPs to the lavish shows gave the Volkswagen Group a clear advantage over the other competitors who did their press releases within the limited time and on the fair booths one day later. The shows became a huge success.
In the small core production team led by the creative head of Volkswagen Events I was creative consultant and technical manager. Planning, budgetting and setting up shows from Shanghai to Detroit, Geneva, Paris and Frankfurt occupied a large part of my time between 2006 and 2013. From organizing a 3D flying system in Beijing, fire and water in Paris, or large-scale projection mapping in Shanghai, this was very challenging and rewarding at the same time.
